Community Outreach

Ann Arbor City Club members support a number of nonprofit organizations in Washtenaw County through a variety of outreach efforts. Each year the Club provides a cash grant to a deserving organization

Each February, the Club conducts its Open Your Heart campaign to collect items that are donated to a local nonprofit organization. In 2016,the Club collected supplies for Interfaith Hospitality Network at Alpha House, a shelter for homeless families with children. In 2017, we will be collecting crib sheets for Friends In Deed.

During the holiday season members also make a special effort to make sure those in need receive a gift.  We regularly compile gift bags for children served by Education Project for Homeless Youth).

Other charitable outreach continues throughout the year. Recent efforts include collecting school supplies for Education Project for Homeless Youth and ushering at Ann Arbor Symphony Youth Concerts. Our “Yarn and Darn” group regularly knits items for donation to local hospitals, the Salvation Army and EPHY. And the City Club is the regular meeting place for multiple nonprofit organizations who are “Member Clubs.”

Organizations that would like to be considered for funding or donations are invited to contact the City Club's General Manager, or a member of the Club's Community Outreach Committee.
